Distracted, not dead.

So like hey.

Although it may have seemed like it, I am not dead. Distracted by real life and other shiny, shiny fandoms yes, but oh so not dead. Haven't been online much the past month or so (again with the whole real life thing) but that's neither here nor there.

Anyway...yes.

I was trying to go to sleep last night (my neighbors were setting fireworks off until sometime around four this morning >_<) and started thinking about Yami no Matsuei for some reason I still don't understand but will not question at this moment in time. The result of which is that I'm working on a new YnM fic-thingy at the moment (it's in an extremely rough draft stage) - don't know if anything will actually come of it...>_<

Tatsumi wasn't quite sure what to make of the whole situation, though he was beginning to adjust to it. Granted, it was a bit unusual going by the typical daily routine of the Summons Division, but oddly enough he found that he didn't really mind.

Really.

In fact, the soft tapping and occasional mumbling coming from the other side of his desk was strangely soothing. While he preferred peace and quiet while he worked, he had no complaints against having Watari in his office. There was a sort of comfortable familiarity in having the other man sitting across from him working on something or other on his laptop. He didn't know exactly what that feeling was, only that it made his office seem less...severe in comparison. Less a place of work and something a little more...

"Tatsumi?"

Blinking as he realized he'd been staring at Watari in an inexcusably rude manner, Tatsumi cleared his throat softly. Watari was regarding him curiously, a small curving his lips in a way that seems almost...hesitant. Almost as though he wasn't sure if he should be smiling or not at the moment.

"Yes, Watari?"

He might not be able to come up with a logical explanation as to why he'd been caught watching his friend, but he was more than capable of -

Watari frowned, his glasses sliding down his nose a little as he paused in his typing. Tatsumi couldn't help but wonder what Watari had been working on that required him to seek out whatever it was he'd found in Tatsumi's office.

"Am I bothering you? I could leave, if you want some peace and quiet..."

That was the question, wasn't it? While he'd been a little surprised when Watari had asked if he could work in his office over a week ago, he hadn't been put out by the request. It had been on the tip of his tongue to inquire as to why Watari's own lab was for some reason unsuitable for this project he was working on, but he hadn't. He still didn't know why he had agreed; only that something had told him not to question this one simple favor. And to be honest, it was...nice not to alone in his office for a change.

So...question asked and answered. Now to find a way to word his response to Watari without explaining why he'd been staring. After all, it had been understandable.

"Bothering me? No, Watari, you aren't bothering me. I was just...thinking."
